The regional breakdown of parliamentary seats in Ghana provides some interesting insights into the country's political landscape.
The NDC in the previous 2020 elections won at least two seats in each of the 16 regions in Ghana while the NPP maintained its dominance in the Ashanti region but did not win any seat in the Oti Region. The Oti Region is one of the six newly created regions of Ghana in December 2018. The region was carved out of the northern part of the Volta Region.
The next general election in 2024 will be closely watched to see if the NDC can maintain these seats or if the NPP can make gains and win seats in the Oti Region.
